2026 NFL Season Incorrect Picks - AFC

Join me for a tour of season predictions that will be comically inaccurate by Thanksgiving.


The Bills win a mediocre division after the regression of the schedule for the Patriots hits but they are still a playoff team. The Bills do little to squash the questions of maximizing Josh Allen’s window. The Dolphins are slightly better than projected while the Jets, predictably, are terrible again. Aaron Glenn will be the first coach fired.

The Bengals rejuvenated defense finally is able to hold up its end of the bargain as they are one of the most balanced teams in the NFL. The Ravens show better than they did last year paired with the Giants struggling gives lots of weight to the fact that John Harbaugh was holding them back. I actually like the Steelers. I picked games week by week and they managed to come out 9-8 like the universe knows it must always happen. Mike McCarthy always has good offenses but the game management stuff and aging defense are very real. The Browns are the Browns.
The Bengals rejuvenated defense finally is able to hold up its end of the bargain as they are one of the most balanced teams in the NFL. The Texans simplify things for CJ Stroud and allow their defense to run completely wild with a unit that might even be better than last year with the addition of Kayden McDonald. The question for them will be; is their future with Stroud if it means having to dismantle that defense. The Jaguars show well for the second straight year with a quality head coach whose offense is for real. The Titans are going to face some uncomfortable questions about the viability of Cam Ward while the Colts are going to end up having to go hard reset.

Eventually, we’re all going to have to come to terms with the fact that Bo Nix is simply a good quarterback that is in a perfect system for him. The Chiefs take on a bit of a rebuilding year after dismantling their secondary and holding the fort while Mahomes recovers. It’s very possible that it is the final year for both Andy Reid and Travis Kelce. The Chargers are starting to feel very much like the Steelers West: never bad but never really a factor in the upper echelon of the league. The Raiders show significant improvement under Klint Kubiak who should have them primed to be legitimately good in 2027.
